2008 Kids Bike Challenge
for the Jimmy Fund

On June 21st the Upton Police Department will be holding its 5th annual kids bike challenge and Silent Auction for the Jimmy Fund. This ride is modeled after the Pan Mass Challenge, which is a major fundraiser for the Jimmy Fund.

The ride will start and finish at the Blackstone Valley Technical High School and consists of a 1.5 mile course with the challenge being to complete 10 laps totaling 15 miles. Children only need to complete what they can. Because the ride is an effort to raise money for the Jimmy fund, we are asking each child to raise a minimum of $35.00 pt $70.00 per family. Following the ride, there will be awards handed out to recognize the top 20 fundraisers.

Registration forms will be available on May 1st at Police Headquarters. You will also be able to download the applications from the Pan Mass Challenge's website at www.kids.pmc.org or the Police Department's website at www.uptonpolice.org. Riders who return their registration forms into Police Headquarters by June 1st will receive a T-shirt on the day of the event. Followng the ride, there will be a cookout for all participants, families an volunteers.

We are looking for items for our silent auction that will be held during the kids ride. If you have questions or would like to make a donation please contact Officer Lisa Vass at Police Headquarters (508) 529-3200.

Money raised for the challenge can be dropped off at Police Headquarters anytime or turned in on the day of the event. Donation checks should be made out tot the Jimmy Fund. 100% of all money raised will be turned over to the Pan Mass Challenge and used for Cancer Treatment and Research at the Dana Farber Hospital in Boston. All money turned in should be accompanied by a deposit slip. Please feel free to copy the fundraising slips on the following page.
