Officer Carl Ambrosino |
| The Upton Police Department maintains a School Resource Officer Program. Officer Carl Ambrosino is assigned as a full time School Resource Officer and serves in the town’s school system on a daily basis. The funding for this program originated from a $125,000.00 grant provided by the Federal Government Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing Program. With the expiration of this grant, the Town of Upton, Mendon-Upton Regional School District, and Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational School District have partnered financially to fund this position. Officer Ambrosino works with the schools, students, and parents to immediately respond to incidents within the school system. His primary focus is to assist students and faculty in problem resolution, reduce bullying, investigate incidents and resolve problems before students are placed into the Criminal Justice System. Officer Ambrosino has helped organize, coordinate and assist with activities such as the After Prom Party, school trips, and extra curricular activities. |
